The Healing Power of Storytelling: Tales of Survivorship Virtual Listening Summit focused in New Orleans, LA | Oakland, CA | Troy, Michigan
November 16, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm EST
Bringing together Black Artists, Tigerlily ANGEL Advocates, and Healthcare Providers to share how they transformed the stark canvas of their diagnosis through their art form to a powerful place of healing within.
Nicole Logan, Moderator & ANGEL Advocate
Nicole Logan grew up in Baltimore City. She is a 2011 graduate of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical (A&T) State University where she received her Bachelor of Art in Psychology. Ms. Logan returned to Baltimore and began volunteering with a local chapter of Sisters’ Network Inc. in support of her godmother. As a result of this work, Ms. Logan began to focus her efforts on ensuring African American women were educated about breast health, particularly those women under age 40.
In 2012, Nicole founded P.I.N.K 4 The City, her response to address the need to educate young women about breast health as well as breast cancer. The first public event was an arts and cultural presentation that included several survivors. This demographic is often not at ‘the table’ when the conversation is had about breast cancer in younger African American women so providing this avenue to share information addressed a very critical need. Nicole has continued to host yearly events and support local advocacy opportunities. In 2021, Nicole joined Tigerlily Foundation as an ANGEL Advocate and continues to use her voice to advocate for breast health within African American communities.
